The VSSL MA.1 is a powerful, single-zone streaming amplifier that works seamlessly with your favorite music services. This guide will help you get started quickly.

1. What's in the Box

2. Connections

On the back of the MA.1 you'll find:

• Network: Ethernet port (recommended) or Wi-Fi setup via VSSL CNCT app
• Inputs: HDMI eARC, Aux, Optical, Digital Coax
  
• Outputs: RCA (Analog) and Optical
• Subwoofer Output: For connecting a subwoofer
  
• Dual Type Binding Post Speaker Terminals: Supports both screw-down and banana plug connections.
• Controls:
  • Bluetooth Button - Press to enter pairing mode (hold 3s to unpair)
  • Reset Button - Hold for 10s to restore to factory defaults
• Power: Plug into AC outlet
  

3. LED Guide (BLAST™ LED)

The center light bar indicates device status:

• White (Solid): Powered on, normal operation
• White (Pulsing):Ready for setup
• Royal Blue (Pulsing): Pairing mode
• Yellow (Flashing): Booting or restarting
• Green (Flashing): Paired successfully
• Purple (Pulsing): Firmware update in progress
• Red (Flashing): Error - reboot or reset
• Turquoise (Flashing): Find me active

4. App Setup

1. Download the VSSL CNCT App from the Apple App Store (iOS) or Google Play Store (Android)
2. Make sure your phone is on the same Wi-Fi network and that your Bluetooth is enabled.
3. Open the app - your MA.1 will appear ready for setup.
4. Follow the in-app instructions to:
   1. Name your device
   2. Connect to Wi-Fi (if not using Ethernet)
   3. Update firmware (if prompted)

5. Play Your Music

You can use any music streaming service that leverages one of these protocols:

• AirPlay 2 (Apple Devices)
• Google Cast (Android and Chrome apps)
• Spotify Connect and Tiday Connect
• Roon Ready, DLNA, UPnP

6. Extra Features

• HDMI eARC: Connect the MA.1 to an eARC-enabled HDMI output of your Television
• Bluetooth 5.3 LE Audio: Stream directly from your phone
• LE Audio Pairing: Ability to pair additional VSSL devices together
• Infrared Control: Learn your TV remote commands in the VSSL CNCT App
• Auto Standby: Device powers down after 15 minutes of inactivity (adjustable in the VSSL CNCT App)
• 12V Trigger: 12 volt output turns on a connected amplifier that supports a voltage trigger
  

7. Resetting

To restore factory defaults:

• Press and hold the Reset Button for 10 seconds until the LED flashes Orange, then release.
